Description
The Brave Emissary and First Martyr of Karbala’s Revolution
In Muslim Ibn Aqil: Messenger of al-Hussain (peace be upon him), Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi presents a detailed, emotional, and spiritually charged biography of one of the most loyal companions of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him). Sent as the Imam’s representative to Kufa, Muslim’s mission was to prepare the ground for the revolution against Yazid’s corrupt regime—a mission that would lead to his betrayal, loneliness, and ultimate martyrdom.
From Loyalty to Leadership: The Mission in Kufa
The book explores Muslim’s piety, courage, and wisdom as he mobilizes thousands in support of Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), only to witness their abandonment in the face of fear and propaganda. The narrative covers his powerful sermons, leadership strategies, and final stand against Ubaydullah Ibn Ziyad’s army—revealing his steadfastness when left alone, his spiritual resolve, and the tragic betrayal he faced.
Heroism in Solitude
Through scenes like Muslim’s final night in worship, his legendary last stand, and his touching farewell message to Imam al-Hussain (peace be upon him), readers are immersed in a story of sacrifice, clarity, and unmatched faith. The work also portrays lesser-known events—his secret refuge with Tawaa, the emotional manipulation of Kufan elites, and his powerful courtroom defense before his execution.
A Model of Resistance and Martyrdom
This book is both a historical narrative and a spiritual call to action. It challenges readers to reflect on loyalty, truth, and sacrifice in times of moral crisis. Muslim Ibn Aqil is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the human depth of the Karbala movement and the eternal example set by the first martyr of Imam al-Hussain’s revolution.
